Once the belle of the ball, she was a little funny, then a little kooky, then fed raccoons that nested in her house. But never mind all that. She was STAUNCH, determined, opinionated. She could work magic with a scarf, turn a cardigan into a skirt. She was the follower of her own flag, and although her drumbeat missed a couple here and there, she sparkled when it counted, and was bold when the situation called for it. She was, most definitely, one of a kind.
