These beads of glass are 2,000 years old; they are fragments of Roman jars, vases, that have been discovered and tumbled. Most of the glass is aqua colored, a beautiful opaque hue of Caribbean waters. They are string in a drape with sterling silver wire on a sterling silver Moroccan-style frame. The glass drop is vintage, from the 40s-50s, most likely Miriam Haskell. They are creamy and luminous and I loved pairing the elegance of an antique glass pearl with the roughness of antiquarian beads fresh from the ground. They hand about an inch and a half, are remarkably light. Sterling silver ear wires with closed clasp.
