Jane
Jane
Twenty years ago, I bought a very small lot of Victorian-era glass mourning beads. They have an iridescent finish, flashing blue, purple and gold, faceted on top. They were hand poured, and each one is a little bit different. I honestly never knew what to do with them because they weould get lost in a bigger design. So I thought: keepit it simple. Let them be the start in this show, but bring along some nice friends for support. So here we have Jane, the 1870’s mourning beads, a smooth, calm bead of Amazonite, a classic crystal faceted rondelle, and an antique glass peacock bead that was used to embellish purses. Simple, but striking. And small. Drop is half an inch. Being honest, don’t have very many of these and I will never see such beauty again.
