Glass Barrette
Glass Barrette
These are from the basement of a long-time NYC jeweler who closed up shop some time ago. Someone bought the contents, and I flipped when I saw these; bought everything he had, although I had no idea what they were, or what to make out of them. I’ve had them for a year, and it finally dawned on me to make barrettes, especially because I wear barrettes and it’s hard, if not impossible, to find vintage or unique one, or something you can’t get from Duane Reade. The backs are foiled and sealed with an acrylic coating, and then placed on a straight-top alligator clip. The guy I bought them from estimates these are from the 30s or 40s, but had no idea what they were. I have a limited amount, especially in silver. I’ll make them to order. Note they have to cure for 48 hours before I ship them out. But really, they are AMAZING. I’ll never find these again!! About an inch and a half long. Price is per pair.
