Vesta

$125.00

Found in Jerusalem, this 2500 year-old shard of a Roman glass jar is flanked by 2000-year old Roman glass beads from Afghanistan, a perfectly faceted crystal rondelle, a freshwater teal pearl. The shard is the lip of the jar, which was folded over when it was made and created a tube inside it which the wire slides into. This aqua-colored glass was acquired from the Antiquities Authority in Israel. It is smoothed of sharp edges, sealed, strung on sterling wire and onto a sterling oxidized oval link chain with a sterling silver plated hook and eye. 18” drop, and comes with a certificate of authenticity by the vendor who brought them back from Israel. I checked him out. He’s the real deal. I was able to talk him out of a couple of pieces because I’m pushy and really wanted them. I’ve never held a piece of history this old in my hand before; think about wearing it around your neck with your favorite dress.
