A line striking colors made from ancient Roman glass unearthed in Afghanistan. Estimated to be between 2500-2000 years old. Circled by a hand-forged sterling silver pendant (by me: I melted the silver, poured it into a ingot, then ran it through the mangler until I got a nice, thick cord of it—that took about a thousand times, if you’re interested. Then the bending, soldering, and the hammering commences until you have a beautiful, very thick circle. Silver prices jumped up 20% last week. This will be second to last piece I can manage to make this thick until the cost comes down. This piece is priced very nicely for the ounces), the colors graduate from a deep teal to a wonderful whiskey color. Strung on an elegant silver chain, it slides over the head and drops to mid-deolletage. The width of the silver pendant is about 1.5 inches. Sealed to keep the patina protected, some of the beads will even have mineral deposits on them. It’s a lovely, lovey, unique piece. No two of these pendants are ever the same; they are all made by hand.
