Brilliant Labradorite Necklace
Brilliant Labradorite Necklace
A brilliant, gorgeous, flashing pendant of blue lightening on a sterling silver oval link chain. Labradorite flashes, yes, but this stone is exquisite. The blue, gold and teals are really just amazing — it never looks like the same stone twice. Note I did not use any special or targeted lighting for these photos — this is in my dining room, natural light only. That’s how spectacular this flash is. No clasp, necklace goes over your head, nothing to fumble with. Geology lesson: ‘Labradorescence is not a display of colors reflected from the surface of a specimen. Instead, light enters the stone, strikes a twinning surface within the stone, and reflects from it. The color seen by the observer is the color of light reflected from that twinning surface. Different twinning surfaces within the stone reflect different colors of light. Light reflecting from different twinning surfaces in various parts of the stone can give the stone a multi-colored appearance.” Labdradorite is a feldspar.
Sterling silver, stone is 47.40 carats. US shipping only.
