Sterling vintage estate bracelet; hand cut
Sterling vintage estate bracelet; hand cut
A gorgeous, slinky bracelet of berries and leaves; the detail on the front is crisp and sharp, but when you turn the bracelet over, you can tell that every link has been hand cut. With a teeny-tiny jewelry saw. I have done this kind of work; it takes a very very long time, it makes you cry, and the saw blades are about as thick as dental floss. This bracelet took a really long time to make; in addition, every single loop on this is closed, which means each one was soldered after it was put on the link. That’s called attention to detail. Very nice quality. It’s not my typical southwestern style of piece, but how can you let something like this pass you by? It has a sturdy clasp, easy release spring (way easier than a lobster clasp) and it has a warm, nice patina. A gorgeous, gorgeous example of excellent craftsmanship. My guess on dating is 60’s, maybe 70’s. Seven and a half inches in length.
