Tiger Eye flashing pendant

Tiger Eye flashing pendant

$50.00

I like to think of Tiger Eye as the golden version of labradorite; a deep, layered, 3-D stone that changes its appearance from every direction. It’s almost like looking at a kaleidoscope, with flashes and shades of deep, lustrous gold. Geology lesson: Tiger's eye is a chatoyant gemstone that is usually a metamorphic rock with a golden to red-brown colour and a silky lustre. As members of the quartz group, tiger's eye and the related blue-coloured mineral hawk's eye gain their silky, lustrous appearance from the parallel intergrowth of quartz crystals and altered amphibole fibres that have mostly turned into limonite.

Woven on to an intricate oxidized sterling silver chain with sterling silver wire, this piece goes directly over the head, no clasp, long enough to add a certain element of plunge and drama. It’s a lovely stone; it’s warm, golden and gorgeous enough that it can stand alone. And boy, howdy, does it!
